Mindia Goradze (“Lavasoglu Batumi”)
On Monday, February 6, 2023, members of the Fugitive Active Search Team (FAST), in cooperation with units of the Albanian Local Police Department (Drejtoria Vendore e Policisë – DVP), detained 41-year-old Georgian citizen Mindia Goradze in Tirana, who known in the status of the so-called “thief in law” nicknamed “Lavasoglu Batumi”. This is officially reported by the Police of the Republic of Albania.
According to the Balkan law enforcers, the king of the underworld was “packed” during the final phase of the special operation, codenamed “Chief” (“Head” / “Boss”). When planning it, the Albanian security forces used the property of their own information intelligence, and also exchanged information with the special services of Montenegro.
It is known that during the detention in the City, they found, probably, a fake passport of a citizen of Ukraine. Now the worthy man has been placed behind bars under temporary arrest, the issue of his extradition to his homeland is being decided.
Earlier on pages Detective-Info reported: on the territory of Georgia, on the proposal of the law enforcement officers of which “Lavasoglu Batumi” was put on the international wanted list, a guilty verdict was passed back in the summer of 2018. A representative of the highest caste of the underworld was sentenced to 12 years in prison under a “profile article”, he was additionally charged with extortion and illegal obstruction of journalists. Since then, a “red notice” has been established in relation to the criminal general in the Interpol system.
In October 2018, he was detained in the Turkish city of Trabzon, after which the extradition epic lasted for more than a year and a half, accompanied by protests by Mindia’s relatives.
In the end, the Turkish authorities decided to release Goradze from the deportation center, but later the thief in law materialized outside of his homeland. At the end of June 2020, with a ticket to Kyiv, he was detained at the Minsk airport by employees of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
Six months later, the criminal general managed to get to Ukraine – on the night of January 3, 2021, Lavasoglu Batumsky arrived in South Palmyra with a fake passport on the Minsk-Odessa flight, where he spent more than two days in the transit zone.

Local media claimed that here the representatives of the highest caste of the criminal world were allegedly preparing to “warmly meet” with presents not only relatives / henchmen (like Zviad’s nephew and Anzor Goradze’s uncle), but also police officials. It was rumored that one of the leaders of the OSS Odessa region, Igor Osmolovsky, allegedly handed over pizza to Lavasoglu Batumsky, inside of which a blade was hidden. Moreover, information circulated that the further release of the thief in law from “transit captivity” to freedom and the failure to transfer him to Georgia was estimated by domestic security forces at 100 thousand dollars.
Be that as it may, at dawn on January 6, 2021, Mindia Goradze left Ukraine aboard a private T7-NES business jet. A few hours later, his plane landed in the town of Golubovtsy, 15 kilometers from the capital of the Republic of Montenegro, the city of Podogorica. Then, on the territory of the Balkan state, local law enforcement officers promptly tried to detain the thief in law, but certain “well-wishers” warned the latter ahead of time about the danger and he disappeared from the radar.
