In Wiesbaden, police, the Federal Criminal Office (BKA) and the tax crime office conducted searches at the offices of Kartina TV and Kartina Digital GmbH.
According to Der Spiegel, the companies are suspected of evading millions of euros in taxes through offshore structures.
Both companies are owned by Andreas R., a native of Transnistria. The investigation is being conducted by the Frankfurt am Main Public Prosecutor's Office. Senior Prosecutor Dominik Mies reported that searches were conducted at several addresses of companies and individuals, and property was seized.
There has been no comment from the BKA yet. Kartina TV broadcasts Russian-language television channels, films, and series and is one of the largest online services of its kind in Germany.
