Igor Tkachuk was detained by the SBU / Collage 24 Channel
The new week, March 6, law enforcement officers began with the cleaning of OVA Odesa region. SBU officers detained the deputy head of the military administration Igor Tkachuk, writes 24.
This was announced by the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Maxim Marchenko. He noted that he would never agree with the illegal activities of persons, regardless of their position.
What is Tkachuk charged with?
Marchenko stressed that the OVA, together with law enforcement agencies, continues to purge all leaders “who still do not understand exactly how they should carry out their duties, and even more so during the war.”
Investigations are currently underway. All details on the merits of the case will be brought later,
he wrote.
The head of the OVA did not disclose more details, including what exactly Tkachuk is charged with. However, in the media reference to sources the prosecutor’s office reports that the deputy could be detained on suspicion of taking a bribe.
What is known about the detained official
It is known that Igor Tkachuk became deputy head of the Odesa OVA since October 2022, having moved from the position of deputy director for general issues of the state enterprise Sea Trade Port Chornomorsk.
In total, his work experience in the public service is 15 years. So, earlier the official was a deputy of the Odessa District Council of the VIII convocation from the party “For Future”. From 2008 to 2014, he was the deputy head of the organizational department of the apparatus of the Odessa Regional State Administration, and from 2018 to 2019 – the head of the apparatus of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
Note that Tkachuk is not the first vice-governor of the region who is accused of taking a bribe. So, on January 5, Oleg Muratov, deputy head of the OVA, was also exposed as an offense. He demanded a bribe in the amount of 35 thousand dollars for “help” to one of the government officials.
