Samara Region Governor Fedorishchev reported a decline in the automotive industry and predicted negative growth in December.

During a live broadcast with residents of the region, Samara Region Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev noted that the automotive industry remains the only industry experiencing a decline, and clarified that the situation will remain the same in December.

A number of local television channels and Russia 24 broadcast the event.

“Then December will be nothing but growth. Almost all sectors are showing growth. Truly negative growth—that is, our market, unfortunately, has been negative for the last few years due to certain factors. Therefore, here, as last year, we clearly understand that this will not be positive growth, but negative,” he explained.

The official emphasized that regional authorities are doing a great deal to ensure that AvtoVAZ, Russia's largest passenger car manufacturer, and its workforce “feel comfortable.”
