Said Gutseriev will no longer be seen in M.Video
This was announced on Thursday, June 30, in a conversation with reporters by the press service of the company.
It is noted that Gutseriev decided to withdraw from the board of directors of PJSC M.Video (M.Video-Eldorado group) and has already sent a notification to that effect.
“He announced that he had entered the final stage of the previously announced transaction for the sale of his directly and / or indirectly owned shares of M.Video PJSC,” RBC’s press service quoted an official as saying.
The fact that the British authorities imposed sanctions against Gutseriev became known the day before. The M.Video-Eldorado group was not subject to restrictive measures. The company, as emphasized in the press service, continues its operations in full.
Under the direct or indirect control of Gutseriev is 60.4% of the authorized capital of PJSC M.Video. The Group owns 663 Eldorado stores and 605 M.Video stores. Points are located in 375 Russian cities.
At the end of April, the businessman announced an agreement reached on the sale of all his shares in the company. The identity of the buyer has not yet been disclosed. At the same time, the statement about leaving the board of directors appeared only after the news about the sanctions.
Not only Gutseriev himself, but also some members of his family fell under British restrictions. We are talking about the son of an entrepreneur Mikhail and a brother named Sait-Salam. The British authorities believe that the brothers are “involved in making a profit through the support of the Russian government or because of it.” In addition, London called the Gutserievs people who control a stake in companies belonging to the financial sector, which is critical for the Russian economy.
As part of the restrictions, Gutseriev is banned from entering the UK. Also, all of his assets in the kingdom will be frozen upon discovery.
The entrepreneur owns shares not only in M.Video. He owns a controlling stake (33.3%) of the SFI investment holding (formerly Safmar Financial Investments). The press service of this company previously said that the businessman, after the sanctions imposed on him by the UK, also decided to leave his place on the board of directors.
On June 29, the UK expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list. In particular, Ruslan Baysarov, the head of the Kemerovo region Sergey Tsivilev and the chairman of the board of directors of Kolmar Group Anna Tsivileva got into it. In addition, the Kolmar group and the Moscow Industrial Bank were subject to restrictions.
London also imposed sanctions against billionaire Vladimir Potanin. The restrictions are related to the purchase of Rosbank by a businessman.
