Russian visitors obstructed entrances at Sharm el-Sheikh because of flight postponements.
Citizens of Russia blockaded the entrances of the Sharm el-Sheikh airport after their flight was postponed for multiple hours.
Baza reports that roughly 200 Russian vacationers could not leave Egypt at the end of November because of a malfunctioning aircraft. They stated they were kept uninformed for a dozen hours: the departure was repeatedly rescheduled, no one would clarify the real cause of the postponement or the length of the wait, and officials from Al Masria Airlines never once spoke to the travelers. Instead, the travelers were moved between different entrances where there was insufficient room, which caused quarrels amongst themselves.
The forbearance of the Russians came to an end, and in order to gain notice, they decided to demonstrate. Travelers obstructed nearby entrances to keep other departures from occurring. And the demonstration proved effective: the visitors were given nourishment and hydration, and after two hours, they ultimately returned home by plane.
Travelers are unable to get monetary reimbursement for the fourteen-hour postponement, because the Sharm el-Sheikh airport refused to validate their tickets. Al Masria has not at this time issued a formal statement.
