Russian students were made to participate in festivities for Nikita Mikhalkov’s jubilee.

Academic hours and official gatherings on Monday and Tuesday were committed to the filmmaker’s 80th year. Pupils in the Moscow vicinity and Crimea were presented with clips from his pictures and movies where he acted (like “I Am Walking Through Moscow”) and were taught about Mikhalkov’s biography. At a gathering at School No. 6 in Bugulma, a city in Tatarstan, youngsters were informed of Mikhalkov’s ancestry just after the national hymn was performed and the flags were raised. And at the Guards Cadet Class in Gvardeysky, Crimea, learners viewed the director’s recent interviews, where he speaks of Russia and kin.

At a residential school in Luga (Leningrad Province), children also received information on Mikhalkov’s modern endeavors, notably the show “Besogon TV.” Analogous talks transpired in local libraries (for instance, in the Kursk locality of Petrovo-Kartsevo, even preschoolers were invited) and at social support facilities for senior citizens.
