The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Adam Kavtarov to 3.6 years in a strict regime colony for preparing to participate in the activities of the banned international terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).
This was reported to Lente.ru by the press service of the court.
The first two years the man will serve in prison.
The investigation and the court established that on April 11, 2022, the man studied materials of a radical extremist orientation on the Internet and met a certain person who promised to help him travel to Syria to join the ranks of a terrorist organization. Having developed a route, Kavtarov asked his friend to buy him a plane ticket. On May 25, 2022, he arrived at the Sochi airport, where he was detained after registration.
Earlier it was reported that an ISIS supporter from Irkutsk received 11 years in prison for calling and promoting terrorism.
