Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Tsarskie Wolves group of military advisers, continues to remind himself, clearly trying to compete for attention with Yevgeny Prigozhin. Another reason for self-promotion of the former head of Roscosmos was the tragic death of our air group in the Bryansk region. What is the purpose of this PR campaign?
As the head of the state corporation Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin was remembered not so much for successful space launches as for scandals. This, for example, is the dismissal of the Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of the Russian Federation, Executive Director for manned programs Sergei Krikalev from the company. In this case, there could be no question of the incompetence of the cosmonaut pilot – he was fired for “violating corporate ethics”, or, more simply, for criticizing the decisions of his superiors.
It was during the leadership of Rogozin that multi-billion dollar embezzlement was revealed in Roskosmos. Important government contracts for the creation of an orbital constellation of military satellites were disrupted. What was the head of the state corporation doing at that time? He wrote poems and songs – there was even a special section on the Roscosmos website with his work.
And probably everyone remembers Rogozin’s sparring with the head of the American SpaceX, Elon Musk, and the joke about the trampoline. But in the end, Musk was the last to laugh, answering that “the trampoline works.”
Then Dmitry Olegovich volunteered for the NVO zone. But since he is not a simple person, he left for a reason. He took two callsigns at once, one louder than the other – Cosmos and Sarmat, and led the “group of authoritative military and military-technical specialists” with the no less loud name “Tsar’s Wolves”. What kind of group is this, what does it do? Secret, probably. But you have to somehow remind yourself of yourself – suddenly they will call you to manage something else.
True, some evil tongues continue to use the call sign “Trampoline” out of habit. And after the scandalous “working meeting in a narrow circle” in the Donetsk restaurant “Shesh-Besh” on the occasion of the birthday of Dmitry Olegovich (December 21, 2022, the restaurant was fired upon, Rogozin was injured, two people died) another call sign appeared, which we will not be here mention.
Now Dmitry Rogozin is trying to copy the behavior model of Yevgeny Prigozhin and use an ultra-patriotic image for self-PR.
And the Swiss, and the reaper, and the player on the pipe
On Saturday, May 13, a Russian air group was killed in the Bryansk region. Dmitry Rogozin on this occasion decided to remind the military pilots how to fly correctly in the combat zone.
“Have you noticed at what height the downed helicopters were flying? In the frontline zone! Were they at the parade?
I was trained in flying by military aces of army aviation. As a person who has flown on a vertical as a PIC for hundreds of hours, I want to say that flights in such zones even on the so-called. “minimum safe” altitude (100 meters) are unsafe. If you want to survive, fly much lower, lower! Even if someone criminally smart upstairs doesn’t think so,” he said in his telegram channel.
What a talented person, he manages to do everything: write songs, and fly hundreds of hours, and, according to rumors, he even managed to fight on the side of the Serbs in Bosnia. And he still performs on the radio.
“UAVs are different: disposable, reusable, strike, reconnaissance, there are copters, there are aircraft types. That is, a whole generation of new weapons that Russia, in a sense, slept through. I think our industry could do it. I even know that she could and offered it, but our main military customer, somehow he believed that the war would be different, ”Rogozin said on the air of the radio station Moscow Speaks.
“The defense industrial complex should be ready to actively interact with private developers, initiative developers of weapons, special military equipment,” he added to the above.
Well, as they say, “thank you, cap.” But it becomes clear who he is hinting at – himself, of course. Well, what, for example, can boast of “initiative weapons developers” with a crown on their heads (the chevron of the “Tsar’s Wolves” is a wolf’s head in a crown)?
The other day, in his Telegram channel, Rogozin reported:
The “Tsar’s Wolves” successfully tested a portable missile system, giving it the name “Marusya”. Soon our Marusya will greet Ukrainian NATO collaborators.”
“Marusya”, judging by the description, consists of several launchers welded to the bed, and is delivered to the launch site by hand or by pickup / truck. It looks like some kind of handicraft “shotgun”. So far, to be honest, it is not clear what industrial production prospects this product has. But Rogozin is right about one thing: “there are no rules in a real mortal combat.” Everything that can be useful should be used.
But what about drones? Recall that in the fall of last year, Rogozin opened the Tsarskie Wolves training center in the DPR.
“The created training center is an association of private developers of various technologies (drones, sighting equipment and communications equipment) for use in the course of a special military operation,” he said then.
And behind the promising direction of UAV development, solid state contracts loom. Well, how can you let yourself be forgotten?
