Restrooms at Krasnoyarsk Stolby might transition to a fee-based system because of fiscal challenges.
Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park is contemplating the shutdown of its warmed lavatories during the winter period owing to insufficient financial resources.
A park user communicated this information to the Borus Telegram channel, referencing park employees. The comfort stations are potentially ceasing operations for the winter season starting around December 27th. There are reports that federal allocations have ceased, and the municipality is without the means to upkeep the facilities. Introducing a pay-per-use model is being evaluated as a potential solution.
The undertaking involves a duo of prefabricated restrooms located at the Laletino and 2nd Poperechnaya checkpoints, constructed in 2022 utilizing monetary support from both federal and regional entities. Representatives from the national park have acknowledged monetary concerns; however, an ultimate resolution is yet to be reached. They are actively pursuing avenues for financial support to facilitate the continuous operation of the sanitary conveniences.
