Residents of the Vladimir region held a rally against the closure of the only maternity hospital in Kolchugino.
A protest against the closure of a maternity ward took place in Kolchugino, Vladimir Oblast. Despite temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius (-20 degrees Fahrenheit), about 200 people, including medical professionals and local politicians, attended.
Participants stated that the closure of the maternity hospital could lead to tragic consequences due to the “optimization” of healthcare and the overburdening of the region's remaining facilities. As an example, they cited the situation in Novokuznetsk, where nine newborns died during the New Year holidays.
Let us remember, “optimizing” healthcare costs due to increased military spending.
