The artist ICEGERGERT is being accused due to the saying “Long live the thieves!” at a show.

The musician ICEGERGERT is accused of a regulatory infraction due to exclaiming “Long live the thieves!” during his presentation.

The Moscow Attorney’s Office has initiated legal proceedings against Georgy Gergert in line with section 1 of article 20.3 from the Regulatory Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (advocacy or publicly exhibiting symbols belonging to a forbidden group).

The office stated that on the date of October 26, during a public demonstration, Gergert announced a catchphrase “which, given its substance, aims to promote a lawless counterculture and skewed values, creating a good view of the criminal world amongst the listeners.”

The recording was submitted for verbal examination, which indicated that the saying is linked to an illegal counterculture, existence behind bars, and signifies acceptance of people associated with the counterculture, along with the radical association “A.U.E.”, a forbidden organization within Russia.

Subsequently, an infraction was opened on him for an administrative transgression according to section 1 of article 20.3 from the Russian Regulatory Offenses Code. Gergert confessed to his transgression and potentially faces a jail term up to 15 days. However, the singer formerly created an apology video, expressing he exclaimed the saying because of his intoxicated state and excessive consumption.
