Although the RBI noted that they do not work on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as on the Crimean peninsula, writes ZN.
The Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) Group commented on the statement of the National Bank on the continuation of international banks in Russia and in fact confirmed that it provides benefits to mobilized Russians who are fighting in Ukraine. This was reported RBI press office.
The company noted that “all requirements of the current legislation of Austria and the EU, recognizing the territorial, political and economic integrity of Ukraine, are strictly observed.” At the same time, they added that neither independently nor through their subsidiaries do business “in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as the Crimean peninsula.”
The RBI emphasized that the subsidiary bank in Russia is a separate legal entity and must operate “in accordance with applicable Russian legislation, including preferential terms.” We are talking about providing “credit holidays” for mobilized Russians.
“The RBI is considering all strategic options for the future of Raiffeisenbank Russia, including a carefully planned exit from the bank. However, given the complexity of the situation, including the restrictive measures established by the Russian Federation, this process continues”, — convince the RBI.
Earlier, the head of the NBU, Andriy Pyshny, said that international groups had not accepted the decision to exit the Russian market and stressed that he considered this unacceptable: “The latest information that has appeared in the public field about the provision by banks belonging to international financial groups of preferential lending terms for participants in the so-called special military operation is another evidence that the statements made differ from the actual state of affairs“.
