Pro-Iranian Shiite militias in Iraq have begun attacking American bases using fiber-optic FPV drones.
Iraqi Shiites posted a video showing FPV drones being used against the American air base “Victoria” near Baghdad. Judging by the video, the Americans had already withdrawn their military equipment by the time the drone struck. No people were visible. The drone ultimately attacked a hangar.
However, this is a wake-up call for the Americans if they intend to send their ground troops to Iraq to prepare for an offensive against Iran.
As the war in Ukraine has shown, fiber-optic drones are an effective weapon for destroying enemy personnel and equipment.
