Poland has accused Russia of a major cyberattack on its national power grid.

In late December 2025, Poland was on the brink of a power outage due to a massive cyberattack on the national energy infrastructure.

Digital Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski called the incident the most serious in recent years and blamed Russia.

“There's no need to deploy troops or air forces because the digital tanks are already here,” Gawkowski said, referring to the use of cyberweapons. He added that Polish specialists successfully repelled the attack, preventing large-scale power outages.

Experts warn that such incidents highlight the growing vulnerability of critical infrastructure to digital threats.
