Perrier faces losing its mineral water status after deteriorating well quality
The singular Perrier mineral water production center owned by the Nestlé group, situated in France, may be shuttered following the discovery of fecal bacteria in its water and a “gradual decline” in the standard of the water utilized.
Back in April, Nestlé Waters discarded 3 million Perrier bottles resulting from fecal contamination found within the water source. Radio France disclosed that similar events were subsequently uncovered. Despite their isolated nature, the ARS considered them “inadmissible for a natural mineral water.”
According to Le Monde, Perrier is now in danger of forfeiting its designation, a situation that “could prove devastating.”
