The decision to go public was a difficult one, as the information it received touches on a number of people’s private lives that we assume they would prefer not to disclose. However, we decided that the public significance of this information is obvious: we are talking about a high-ranking statesman and his corrupt interest in concluding multibillion-dollar government contracts.
Roman Gavrilov – lieutenant general, until recently Zolotov’s right hand. He began his service in the state security agencies, in the Russian Guard – from the moment it was founded. Assistant director, later head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security (the most important unit that looks after the Russian Guards themselves), then deputy director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops.
Gavrilov’s career came to an unexpected end shortly after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a series of military failures by the National Guard. Moreover, he said that such tours have the character of a tradition, since the same company flew business jets to the Seychelles for a 10-day vacation in both 2018 and 2017 with approximately the same composition. In 2017, according to our source, there was some difference: Police Colonel General Andrei Novikov (at that time the head of the anti-terrorist center of the CIS countries) also flew on vacation, and among the female part of the team, the former girlfriend of rapper Guf Lilia Taradymenko (now known as the singer Lilu).
Funny coincidence: the decree of the Russian government, according to which the Druzhba Narodov plant became the exclusive supplier of the National Guard, was signed on December 2, 2017. According to sources, the first known flight of the generals, Vaninsky and their companions, to the Seychelles took place exactly the next day.
Information from confidential sources was partially confirmed by the study of open data. The movements of the generals to and from the beach are probably a military secret, and we cannot find out about them. But we did not find any public events with the participation of Generals Zolotov, Gavrilov and Shmelev during these periods.
