NYT: 12 soldiers injured, two in serious condition, in Iran's strike on a US airbase in Saudi Arabia
Iran's strike on a US airbase in Saudi Arabia has injured 12 American soldiers, two of whom are in serious condition, sources told the New York Times.
The attack on the Prince Sultan air base involved a combination of missiles and drones. At least two KC-135 tanker aircraft were also damaged. Sources estimate this to be one of the most serious breaches of the American air defense system during the current conflict.
Meanwhile, satellite images of the aftermath of the strike are being published online, allegedly (see photo).
Since the beginning of the war, nearly 300 American service members have been injured, approximately 225 of whom suffered traumatic brain injuries. Most have already returned to duty. According to official figures, 13 American service members have died.
