Nancy Pelosi Meets Taiwan President and Vice Speaker of Taiwan’s Parliament
Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, who arrived in Taiwan yesterday, on Wednesday, August 3, met with Vice Speaker of the local parliament Cai Qichang and Chief of Staff Tsai Ing-wen.

At a meeting with Tsai Qichang, Pelosi expressed her desire to expand inter-parliamentary ties between the US and Taiwan.
Cai Ing-wen presented Pelosi with the honorary Order of Auspicious Clouds.
“Our delegation, which I am very proud of, came to Taiwan to make it clear that we will not give up our commitment to Taiwan and we are proud of our friendship that has stood the test of time,” said the speaker of the US House of Representatives.
Tsai Ing-wen said that Taiwan will not back down in the face of military threats and will strengthen its defense capabilities.
Also, the President of Taiwan at a meeting with Pelosi announced her intention to strengthen partnership with the United States in various fields in order to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
