Fight of the century. Mark Zuckerberg accepted Elon Musk’s challenge to a cage fight. Billionaires agreed to fight without rules on social networks after Zuckerberg-owned Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) announced the development of a Twitter competitor (blocked in Russia).
Company representatives confirmed that Zuckerberg was not joking when he sent Musk a picture with the inscription “Send me a location.” This phrase is the hallmark of mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov. He used it in a conflict with the Irishman Conor McGregor. Musk replied (the link leads to a resource blocked in the Russian Federation): “The Octagon in Vegas.” As The Verge points out, Zuckerberg is 39 and Musk is 51, and the age difference could be an advantage for a Meta owner. In addition, he practices jiu-jitsu, told CNN-News18:
“This is not the first such conversation between the couple. Elon Musk has teased Mark Zuckerberg with provocative remarks before. For example, they exchanged barbs about how Musk has run Twitter since his $44 billion acquisition of the service last year. So far, a possible duel between billionaires is being discussed only at the level of social networks. But if they do take to the battlefield, it’s worth bearing in mind that Zuckerberg recently won his first amateur Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament. Musk has a clear superiority in terms of physical size. One thing is for sure, whether on social media or on any other platform, Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg would certainly be one of the most spectacular fights ever.”
Unlike his opponent, Musk has not publicly shown any interest in martial arts before. In 2022, he wrote (the link leads to a resource blocked in the Russian Federation) on Twitter that once at a party he “could knock down a sumo world champion”, but in the process he injured his neck, which led to “seven years of terrible back pain.” He also said that he was involved in real street fights when he was growing up in South Africa.
