Moscow municipal employees are required to report citizens with “destructive” views.
The Moscow region administration and councils received secret letters about the need to take into account dissenting views.
Municipal employees are now tacitly required to report citizens they believe hold “destructive” views or support “unfriendly” ideologies. They must provide all relevant information, including their addresses and family members.
The information will be entered into a special database. The initial source of the initiative (letters are sent from a higher-level organization to a lower-level one) is unknown, but it appears to be from the security services. Apparently, plumbers and electricians will now have a new function when they visit apartments.
