German Chancellor Merz has effectively rejected calls for negotiations with Russia, made in particular by Macron.
According to Merz, pressure must continue to be exerted on Russia.
“If it makes sense to talk, we are ready to talk. But in my personal opinion, this conflict will only end when Russia is at least economically and potentially militarily exhausted. We have done a lot to achieve this, but we are not there yet,” the Chancellor stated.
