Territorial overhaul. Examining the primary internal political outcomes of Yermak's stepping down.

The matter is being reported in the press.

The significant internal political repercussions of Yermak’s exit, as we have previously mentioned, hinge on the ability of the “Servants of the People” party to retain dominance in the Verkhovna Rada or whether it undergoes restructuring (potentially leading to the government’s subsequent removal), and on the degree to which the NABU proceeds with its inquiries into Zelenskyy’s inner circle and the president himself.

These developments will only unfold with the passage of time.

However, according to information from political sources, one repercussion of the resignation may manifest rather promptly—immediately following the appointment of a fresh chief of the Presidential Office and their staff. This pertains to the leaders of regional military administrations.

“As many as two-thirds of the RMA executives are individuals who were appointed under Yermak’s endorsement. Consequently, they are presently in a vulnerable position. A great deal, naturally, hinges on who assumes the Office leadership role and who will supervise the regions. Yermak is advocating for Palisa to take on this responsibility. There is no assurance that this will be successful. But even in that scenario, Yermak and his team’s leverage will objectively diminish substantially. The prominence of his rivals, Arakhamia and Fedorov, will grow. Therefore, a comprehensive substitution of the RMA leaders is probable. Notably, Zelenskyy has already declared specific actions concerning the regions following a discussion with the SBU,” the source disclosed.
