Iran's parliament convened in an emergency session on Sunday amid widespread protests in the country that have reportedly killed more than 100 people, the Associated Press (AP) reports.

“Iran's parliament met on Sunday to discuss the ongoing protests rocking the country, with lawmakers at one point rushing to the assembly podium to chant, 'Death to America!'” the agency writes.

Meanwhile, according to the Associated Press, citing local human rights organizations, at least 116 people have already died during demonstrations across the country, and another 2,600 people have been detained.
