The family empire of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin continues to expand and captures new industries. Recently, information has leaked into the public field that the Khusnullin family may be closely associated with Nikolai Tokarev’s Transneft, and also have their own interests in the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port.
Most recently, Nasha Versiya has already talked about how the son of Deputy Prime Minister Albert Khusnullin built a huge agricultural empire in Tatarstan in a matter of months. Apparently, the daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Alina Khusnullina (married to Kireev) does not lag behind her brother, making a significant contribution to the development of the Khusnullins’ business empire.
The path to big business
For the first time, Alina Kireeva as a businesswoman became known at the end of 2021 in connection with the publication of the Pandora dossier. Then it turned out that the full namesake of the daughter of the Deputy Prime Minister, as of the end of December 2020, owned a stake in Chistopol Hotel JSC. She also had an offshore company in the British Virgin Islands. On this offshore, according to information from the published documents, real estate worth 1.5 million euros was registered. Some media then suggested that the money for luxury expensive real estate came from the already mentioned hotel.
However, judging by everything, the matter is not in the hotel business at all. Moreover, the mentioned offshore company seems to be just the tip of the iceberg.
The history of her husband’s family can lift the veil of secrecy over the possible business of the daughter of the Deputy Prime Minister. Alina Kireeva is the wife of Evgeny Kireev, the son of the head of the Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port. The career of the father-in-law of the vice-premier’s daughter deserves a special mention.
According to the media, in the now distant 90s, a graduate of the Krasnodar State Institute of Physical Education and a professional wrestler Sergey Kireev began to build his career. If you believe the rumors, then he became close to the well-known criminal authority in Novorossiysk, Yuri Espiryan. Thanks to his acquaintance with such a “respected person”, Sergey Kireev gets a job at the Eurasia-Bunker company. According to unofficial information, at that time this company could earn money by transferring profits from ship bunkering to the Cyprus offshore.
In 2002, the authority of Espiryan was killed, but Kireev remained in business, continuing to move up the career ladder. As an employee of Eurasia-Bunker, Kireev, as far as one can understand, made friends with Kirill Gritsai, an employee of the FSB for the Krasnodar Territory in Novorossiysk, who later, having gone to work in the Murmansk department, introduced him to Mikhail Arustamov, who at that time occupied the chair of vice- President of Transneft.
Perhaps it was thanks to these acquaintances that Sergey Kireev at various times headed many subsidiaries of the oil company: CJSC Transneft-Service, LLC Transneft-Service, LLC Transneft-Terminal, etc. And in 2017, Kireev was appointed CEO of PJSC ” Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) – exactly at the time when Transneft announced its intention to consolidate 50.1% of the port’s shares in its hands. Note that even today Transneft holds more than 60% of the port’s shares (both directly and through subsidiaries). NCSP is today the third port operator in Europe and the leader in the domestic stevedoring market in terms of cargo turnover. The company’s revenue in 2021 amounted to more than 43 billion rubles.
rich bride
Nasha Versiya has already talked in detail about how Sergey Kireev and his possible patrons from Transneft could turn the state port into a cash cow for Cypriot offshore companies (see “The port leaves metallurgists without trousers”). However, now it turns out that the Khusnullin family also seems to have entered the port and oil business. According to the Telegram channel Brief, the daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Alina Kireeva is the owner of a whole network of Cypriot offshore Fortress Group. An indirect confirmation of this can be the fact that in 2016, while taking part in the marathon race in Limassol, Ms. Kireeva, according to the Telegram channel, herself recorded herself as a representative of this company. By the way, as some media wrote, Sergey Kireev took his wife and children to the Cypriot city of Famagusta back in 1998. His son Yevgeny Kireev supposedly even has Cypriot citizenship.
But back to the affairs of Alina Kireeva. The Fortress group includes more than 30 companies. Presumably, one of them, Stamukha Shipping Limited, is associated with JSC NCSP Fleet, which maintains ships of NCSP itself. In January last year, a Cypriot offshore bought a 30-meter offshore yacht from a certain Roman Loginov. And just a few days later, the yacht was sold to NCSP Fleet JSC. At the same time, it is obvious that the company hardly needed a private pleasure yacht for any production needs. It can be assumed that the ship was purchased for personal use by one of the top managers.
What is interesting: the beneficiary of some Cypriot offshore companies, allegedly associated with Alina Kireeva, is a certain Evgeny Kireev – this is the name of the husband of the daughter of the Deputy Prime Minister. We are talking, in particular, about two companies – Whole Village Food and Hematite Holdings Limited. Both companies are Cypriot developers. However, no transactions have been registered for them. So, by indirect evidence, it can be assumed that both firms are shell companies.
Note that the purchase of a pleasure yacht is not the only luxury purchase in which Cypriot offshore companies have been highlighted. In particular, Fortress Group owns the SCILares real estate agency, which was bought from the former banker Yuri Milyukov. This company probably has an estate in France, located 20 kilometers from Paris. The estimated cost of the French castle is more than 2 million euros.
