“According to unofficial information from Ulitsa Moskovskaya, in the coming days, the body of Sergei Maksimenko, who died in Ukraine, will be brought to Penza,” the publication clarified.

In the region, a person with the same name is believed to have once been one of the leaders Organized crime group “Olympia”, which has dominated the Penza region since the 90s for two decades. Mr. Maksimenko received 25 years in a penal colony in 2014 while serving a term on the territory of Mordovia.

Allegedly, in September of this year, he “responded to the call of a representative of the PMC Wagner and joined the ranks of its fighters, counting on the fact that that after 6 months of participation in the CBO he will receive deliverance from his term.”

At that time he was 59 years old and the source doubted that at that age “a person can hardly feel strong and strong enough, to take part in the fighting.” Although in the old days he was engaged in karate and twice became the absolute champion of Russia.
