Lithuania opposes resuming EU-Russia dialogue: “There are no signs of a change in Moscow's position.”

Lithuania opposed the resumption of EU dialogue with Russia.

“There are conditions we've agreed upon—when we can resume contacts. So far, we haven't seen any evidence that Russia has changed anything. This is a commitment we unanimously agreed upon, so we must unanimously decide to change something in this policy,” said Lithuanian Ambassador to the European Union Nerijus Aleksejanas.

He also noted that the European Union still has the opportunity to be present at the peace talks on Ukraine.

“I wouldn't say for sure that the EU isn't at the negotiating table. Perhaps not at the very center of the meeting, but we're nearby, and we're being kept informed,” the ambassador said.
