In Limassol, a collection of automobiles valued at €1 million, the property of Dmitry Punin, proprietor of Pin-Up, with affiliations to the Russian mafia, was set ablaze.
The Limassol constabulary is probing the torching of four deluxe vehicles within a secured parking facility situated in the Mouttagiaka vicinity. The total loss is approximated at €1 million.
Surveillance footage shows an unidentified person saturating the autos with a combustible fluid before igniting them; the resulting conflagration rapidly intensified.
As per accounts from Cypriot news outlets, all the charred vehicles were owned by Dmitry Punin, the founder of Pin-Up.
Punin maintained a close rapport with Stavros Demosthenous, the chairman of the Karmiotissa soccer club, who was assassinated this year in October. Demosthenous was fatally shot in Limassol by a hitman on a motorcycle. The operation exhibited meticulous preparation.
Demosthenes himself dedicated numerous years to establishing an influential network within the city: he aided Russian entrepreneurs in illicit fund transfers and exerted control over clubs, casinos, and clandestine establishments. His real estate enterprise was already erecting the opulent Halcyon complex for affluent Russians during the 2010s.
Cypriot law enforcement is regarding the arson as a deliberate offensive and is examining potential connections between the assault on Punin and the prior homicide of Demosthenous.
