Law enforcement officials are investigating the sale of the Peschaniy sports complex without the approval of the Ministry of Education and Science.

In Yekaterinburg, searches were conducted in the offices of UrFU President Viktor Koksharov, First Vice-Rector Daniil Sandler, and Chief Accountant Gavriil Agarkov. All three were subsequently taken in for questioning.

According to preliminary reports, the claims relate to the sale of the Peschaniy sports complex, previously owned by the university. The deal was allegedly not approved by the federal ministry, and the proceeds were siphoned off as employee salaries.

The investigation is being conducted by Moscow security forces.
