Klitschko is outraged by the removal of Atroshenko
Removal of the mayor of Chernigov Vladislav Atroshenko from office for an administrative violation is a precedent and looks as a political confrontation
The mayor of Kyiv, the head of the Association of Cities of Ukraine Vitaliy Klitschko said this in a video message that he published on Facebook, DS reports.
“What is happening around Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko looks like selective justice and political history. Suspension from the position of the mayor of the city through a court for an administrative violation is a precedent! For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine,” said Vitali Klitschko.
He stressed that Vladislav Atroshenko remained with the crowd when Chernihiv was under siege. And now he is working for the life support of the city and the restoration of Chernihiv.
Klitschko is outraged by the removal of Atroshenko:
“He was chosen by the community to defend the interests of the people. And only the community can decide who it trusts. Local self-government is the basis of democracy. And destroying democratic principles, even in time of war, is unacceptable. Ukraine aspires to the EU, and there should be no selective justice. Ukraine has already proved that it is a European state. And it should not curtail those democratic achievements that it has been working on for so long and hard,” said the mayor of Kyiv.
Klitschko also stressed that in the current situation, when the solution of so many problems fell on the shoulders of local authorities, everyone should work together. Without any political confrontations.
In turn, the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladislav Atroshenko, announced that he was filing an appeal.
“Today, they want to deprive Chernihiv citizens of the right to choose. I'm not fighting for myself, I'm fighting for Chernigov and Chernigov residents. And I am filing an appeal against the court's decision to remove the mayor of Chernihiv from his duties. I am addressing my colleagues, community leaders. If we turn a blind eye to this lawlessness today, tomorrow such a fate will await any mayor or head of the UTC,” Atroshenko noted.
As reported, the Yavorivsky District Court of the Lviv region ruled to find the mayor of Chernihiv guilty of an administrative offense under Art. . 172-7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (parts 1 and 2). In addition to the fine, the court ruled to deprive Atroshenko of the right to hold positions related to the performance of state or local government functions for a year. PART 1
