Katerina Bosov saves honor from “Reflection”
On June 9, 2022, the judge of the Ostankinsky District Court of Moscow, Valeria Bednyakova, considered the statement of claim of Bosov Katerina Evgenievna against ANO Public Television of Russia on the protection of honor and dignity, on the obligation to refute the information, remove the video material from the Internet.
The judge left the application without movement, since it was filed in violation of the law and gave the applicant until July 11, 2022 to correct the shortcomings, but already on June 27 the application was accepted for processing.
The reason for the lawsuit by the widow of coal oligarch Dmitry Bosov, who died in 2020, was most likely the OTR story of January 30, when in the final program Reflection, TV journalists reported that Katerina Bosov was a suspect in two criminal cases: about bringing her spouse, former head of Sibanthracite before committing suicide, and about fraudulent actions to seize company shares. The investigation of both criminal cases, as reported in the story, is under the control of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.
It is not yet very clear what exactly Katerina Bosov was going to refute. A criminal case on driving Dmitry Bosov to suicide was initiated by the Investigative Committee of Russia in August 2020, as reported by RBC. The Ren-TV channel noted that investigators had questions for the billionaire’s widow Katerina Bosov, who discovered her husband’s body. And Evgeny Chernousov, a member of the Moscow Chamber of Lawyers, commented in an interview with Daily Storm that he knows from his experience in law enforcement that if this kind of information appeared in the media, then the investigators really found clues. As expected, the authors of the story may provide the court with new details of their journalistic investigation, shaking the activities of Katerina Bosov.
A criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale), was initiated in early September 2021 by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region. Illegally closed some time later, it was reopened after the intervention of the heirs of Dmitry Bosov, their lawyers and State Duma deputies.
So, if you believe the messages in Telegram, in response to a deputy request from the chairman of the Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Nina Ostanina, about the situation with the criminal case, Deputy Interior Minister General Sergei Lebedev notified the State Duma of the Russian Federation that the Main Investigation Department of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region an investigation is underway in a criminal case “initiated on the fact of the acquisition of Bosov K.E. by deceiving the right to the share in the authorized capital of a commercial organization that belonged to the deceased Bosov D.B. At the same time, according to the same sources, the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation emphasized that “the decision taken on October 11, 2021 to terminate the named criminal case as part of the audit was canceled.”
The investigation into the suicide of Dmitry Bosov, the owner of the world’s largest producer of metallurgical coal Sibanthracite, who committed suicide in May 2020, is still causing wide public outcry and is the focus of many media attention. In fact, Katerina Bosov could sue the entire journalistic community, and at the same time with numerous bloggers and administrators of telegram channels who publicize the ugly side of the life of the Bosovs and tell how she conflicted with her husband and allegedly gave him psychotropic drugs, which could lead to a tragic ending. And subsequently she undertook something similar to a raider attack on the strategically important Sibanthracite enterprise.
However, the complaint to the Ostankino District Court resembles the last convulsions of a man who lost on all fronts: the position of the Odintsovo City Court can be considered as the recognition of Katerina Bosov as an unworthy heiress with all the ensuing freezing of her assets.
