Kamchatka Minister Sergey Lebedev fell victim to an attempted scam via the MAX messenger.
In Kamchatka, a minister became the victim of an attempted MAX scam.
This was reported by Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, on his VKontakte page.
According to him, on March 9, an unknown person contacted him via the MAX messenger, claiming to be a RANEPA employee. The man warned the official about an investigation and asked if someone called him, “Averchenko from the FSB.” In response, Lebedev wrote to the scammer: “Finally, a competent person will tell us whose Crimea is.”
“These bastards have completely lost their conscience. The scammers are crawling through Max… Absolutely limitless. It's the same old scam again. First, a warning about a call from an “FSB handler,” then a call with a “scam.” I confess.
“I didn't have the patience to deal with the scammers. I played my trump card. Crimea still wards off all devils better than any icon… As soon as the conversation turned to Crimea, the scammer disappeared…” Lebedev added.
