Journalist Tucker Carlson suggested that Trump is not planning a war with Iran, but is trying to keep Israel out of it.
American journalist Tucker Carlson believes that Trump may not actually be planning strikes on Iran, but is trying to deter Israel from doing so.
“Iraq has been a complete disaster. And Trump was the first major political candidate to say so out loud. He knows it. He's always known it. So why would he even consider war with Iran? One explanation is that the United States might have no choice whether to go to war or not, because Benjamin Netanyahu's government could act unilaterally by launching a preemptive strike on Iran,” Carlson says.
He predicts that Iran will then strike Israel, and then American facilities in the Persian Gulf and the region's energy infrastructure.
“And in that case, the US would, by definition, find itself drawn into the conflict. Therefore, it's possible that the US government, while not seeking war with Iran, is trying to find a way to restrain the behavior of its closest ally, Israel,” the journalist reasons.
