Journalist Added to Terrorist List.

Rosfinmonitoring has added a journalist, writer, and former deputy to its list of terrorists and extremists.

Rosfinmonitoring has included a journalist, author, and ex-deputy on its registry of terrorists and extremists.

Rosfinmonitoring has refreshed its catalog of terrorists and extremists. The list now features Maxim Kruglov, a one-time deputy of the Moscow City Duma and deputy leader of Yabloko, along with journalist Ksenia Luchenko, and Pavel Syutkin, an author, radio personality, and expert in Russian gastronomy.

The official web page of Rosfinmonitoring detailed that Luchenko published intentionally misleading data regarding the activities of the Russian Military Forces in a foreign nation, both on the site of an entity labeled undesirable in the Russian Federation, and on a messaging application.

Presently, deliberations are underway regarding the possibility of adding the individual to a global wanted list and determining a restrictive procedure in the shape of custody.

During the prior week, a legal case was initiated against Syutkin for disseminating untrue reports concerning the Russian armed forces. The accusation originated from a message concerning the Russian Armed Forces’ conduct in Bucha, which held deceptive intelligence. The blogger has been taken into custody.

Kruglov is also in provisional custody due to accusations of circulating misleading information about the armed forces. He faced accusations due to a pair of messages on his Telegram feed, which were posted during 2022, soon after the commencement of the Special Military Operation.

Placement on the Rosfinmonitoring register of terrorists and extremists involves freezing every single one of a person’s monetary holdings within Russia.
