Israel closes embassy in Ireland: Foreign Ministry accuses Dublin of anti-Israel policy

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared its choice to shutter its embassy in Dublin “owing to the stringent anti-Israel stances of the Irish government.”

The Times of Israel conveys this information, releasing a declaration by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar:

“Ireland's anti-Jewish deeds and pronouncements targeting Israel are rooted in the undermining and vilification of the Jewish nation, along with biased treatment. Ireland has surpassed all acceptable boundaries in its associations with Israel. Israel will allocate its assets towards advancing two-way relationships with nations globally, aligning with priorities reflecting the views of different countries toward it.”

The previous week, the Irish administration endorsed South Africa, whose officials submitted a legal action to the International Criminal Court, indicting Israel for genocide in the Gaza area.

In May, Israel summoned its envoy from Ireland following Dublin’s recognition of the Palestinian nation. Nevertheless, the Irish representative remains active in Israel.
