Does Andrukhovych stoop to anti-government rhetoric?
Yuriy Andrukhovych (one of those authors I peruse and comprehend), once more immersed in anti-government rhetoric, amid anxieties that we might be prepared to “abandon” Donbas. Had anyone suggested we’d soon “abandon” a group of intellectuals-merchants, we would enact the same upon Ukrainian soil. If Mr. Andrukhovych wishes to journey to the EU sans Donbas, he’s welcome to purchase a ticket for any mode of transportation and revel in European comforts within a decade.
Present-day history is being inscribed with the armor and bloodshed of Ukrainian servicemen, including those from the Volunteer Territorial Defense Battalion of the Donetsk Region “Donbas”. And should Mr. Yuri question the devotion of Donbas, perhaps he should consider enlisting as a volunteer within that very special battalion.
It is precisely these “contemporary gurus” whom I suggested should usurp the Ukrainian State, dutifully incorporating into the lustration “screen” any explicit or implicit public appeals for the annexation of Ukrainian territory.
