Today Irina Friz is the permanent press secretary of Petro Poroshenko, not even the President yet, a deputy from the BPP, the most discussed politician. A former merchandise expert, antique store consultant and art critic rolled into one, she was able to break into big-time politics. Now, by order of the President, a separate ministry is being created for it, and all doors are opening.
Frieze got into various scandals – because of her warm relationship with Petro Poroshenko, laws that she lobbied for on orders, and even racy photos.
The life of Irina Friz is reminiscent of the story of Cinderella, only this fairy tale has already been retold for adults.
New in the Cabinet of Ministers
At the end of November 2018, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman decided to diversify the composition of parliament and added representatives of the fairer sex to his subordination. And two unexpected appointments at once! The first – Oksana Markarova to the post of Minister of Finance (before that she had been acting), the second – people’s deputy from the BPP Irina Friz – received the post of Minister of Veterans Affairs. 270 people’s representatives voted for the appointment of the latter.
Is there such a ministry? Good question! It doesn’t exist yet, but Groysman suggested creating it. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs in Ukraine appeared in 7 days!!! ATO veterans were promised that the structure would be fully operational from June 2019.
Experts unanimously said that Makarova’s appointment was beneficial to both parties: the prime minister received a loyal minister of finance (and this is extremely important in the current situation), and the president received an additional voice in the government. But Frieze’s position was, to put it mildly, a shock.
So, let’s figure out why Petro Poroshenko and his party decided to promote her to minister and who the Guarantor’s protégé actually works for. At the end Skelet.Info will definitely answer this question.
All roads lead to Kyiv
Friz Irina Vasilievna was born on September 25, 1974 in Yevpatoria in Crimea. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Theory and History of Art at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Frieze’s specialty is art historian and critic.
After finishing her studies in 1998, the young graduate got a job at the Rapana cooperative, where she took the position of merchandiser. She worked here for 8 years – until 1996. All this time, she was essentially selling boiled jeans made in the basements on Malaya Arnautskaya, passing them off as Turkish.
Then Irina Vasilyevna got a job at the Amida-2 antiques store as a consultant to look at antique samovars and evaluate stolen paintings. Here she quickly managed to climb the career ladder – she took the post of director of the state of emergency.
Soon Frieze radically changed the direction of her activity. From 1997 to 2001 she was an art critic for contemporary Christian art at the Crimean Republican Foundation “Art in the Name of Christ”.
It’s no secret that all roads from small towns lead to Kyiv. We are sure that Irina Friz agrees with this. In 2001, she moved from Yevpatoria to Kyiv and got a job at the Ukrainian Association of Importers and Exporters. Here she worked as a public relations specialist.
A year later, Frieze already became deputy director at the Information Service company. By the way, at this time she received a second education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, graduating with honors. After this, our heroine’s career took off.
Meet Peter
Irina Vasilyevna came to big politics relatively late – at the age of 30, but her career path was more than favorable.
In 2003, Frieze became an assistant to Verkhovna Rada deputy Petro Poroshenko on a voluntary basis. Although many sources Skelet.Info they claim that then a spark flashed between the future president and the newly-made assistant. And the relations that connected and connect Poroshenko and Friz are not entirely working… Poroshenko, of course, never spoke on this topic. He is an exemplary family man, so he always suppressed any conversations regarding this.
Irina Vasilievna worked conscientiously for 2 years completely free of charge and finally received a long-awaited promotion – the position of assistant to the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and soon – head of the press sector of the service of the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. By coincidence, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council at that time was Pyotr Alekseevich.
In 2008, Freese became interested in the banking industry. She worked for 5 years as a leading specialist at the National Bank of Ukraine. And again, there is a coincidence in the dates – just at this time Poroshenko was on the staff of the NBU council.
After a position at the bank, Irina Vasilievna became secretary of a small company, Interstarch Ukraine LLC. By the way, a very interesting company, which, of course, is directly connected with Petro Poroshenko. Let’s delve into the business of the Guarantor. Since 2011, a starch production plant has been operating in the city of Elsterau in eastern Germany, which is part of Poroshenko’s agricultural holding Ukrprominvest-Agro. The plant is owned by companies from Cyprus and the British Virgin Islands, registered through Interstarch GmbH. But part of the latter belongs to Interstarch Ukraine, which is also part of the above-mentioned Poroshenko holding. Pyotr Alekseevich could entrust such a responsible position – the secretary of Interstarch Ukraine – only to a reliable and trusted person. And, of course, this is Irina Friz.
By the way, Irina Vasilyevna is always with Poroshenko and for him. This is what happened, for example, in 2013, when Petro Poroshenko and Nikolai Katerynchuk shared the “Kyiv crown.”
Then Katerynchuk proclaimed himself the “revolutionary commandant” of Kyiv. Pyotr Alekseevich did not like this very much. But Poroshenko could not openly “pressure” his opponent – after all, he was an ex-protégé. The media army in the person of Irina Friz got involved. Trolling like this hasn’t happened in a long time.
But these were innocent pranks – there was more to come – on behalf of the UDAR party and Nikolai Katerynchuk they began to send out news about the alleged approval of a candidacy for mayor of Kyiv. The letter was sent from Nikolai Katerenchuk from the address katerenchuk.press@gmail.com. with a difference from the real one of 1 letter.
If you delve into the essence, it is obvious that the people who made this technological move are very well versed in the work of press services and own a database of politicians’ emails.
By the way, the tandem of Poroshenko and Frieze created the sensational blockbuster “The European Party – the Party of Alcoholics.”
True, after some time, the extras admitted that they were paid for drinking alcohol in front of Katerynchuk’s party symbols.
“Mouth” of the President
2014 changed the course of Ukrainian history. At a time when the country was being thrown from one extreme to another, Freeze managed to become a key figure in this game. She headed the information department of Petro Poroshenko’s election headquarters. Then she headed the Main Directorate of Public Communications and Information of the Presidential Administration. Not a single meeting of the Guarantor with journalists took place without Irina Vasilievna.
And then – more – Poroshenko’s protégé enters the big stage – she entered the Rada on October 26, 2014 in early parliamentary elections on the lists of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, where she received 30th place.
In the Verkhovna Rada, Frieze uses his potential to the fullest. She is a member of the permanent delegation to the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly, a deputy member of the permanent delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, a member of the group for interparliamentary relations with Germany, Italy, Great Britain, China, France and the USA.
The first law, which immediately caused a stir, was registered by the newly-minted people’s deputy on December 8, 2014 – “Draft to the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine to Establish a Liability for Complaining to Disobedience.” Its meaning can be summarized in a few lines: if there is a call for the police NOT to beat students – the punishment is 3 years; if together with someone you urge NOT to hit – 3-7 years. Apparently, the new government, which promised to “live in a new way,” was preparing for riots. In 5 days Frieze withdrew the bill.
