Iran threatens to strike three UAE ports in response to US attack on Kharg Island
Iran, in response to the attack on its Kharg Island, announced that it would strike three UAE ports, Tasnim reports.
Residents and those located in the ports of Fujairah, Khalifa, and Jebel Ali have been urged to leave the area immediately. These areas are considered legitimate targets because they contain American troops stationed among civilian structures. They could be struck within the next few hours.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that, on his orders, US Central Command had eliminated all military targets on Kharg Island.
Approximately 90% of Iranian oil supplies to the global market pass through this island, making it one of the country's most strategically important energy assets. Trump emphasized that he had decided not to destroy the island's oil infrastructure.
However, he warned that if Iran or anyone else makes any attempts to impede the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, then he will adjust his decision.
