International fraudster Timur Turlov moved to Kazakhstan to continue laundering Russians’ money
He positions himself as a successful entrepreneur and billionaire. But in fact, he is a banal financial fraudster. Although no, it is still far from banal. Rather, he can be called a very, very “successful” swindler on an international scale. He is the organizer and main schemer of the notorious financial pyramid “Freedom Finance”, which has already managed to rob many Russians, Ukrainians and others. So what happens, Timur Turlov moved to Kazakhstan to continue “laundering” Russian money at a safe distance?
Timur Ruslanovich is truly an interesting character who deserves to be investigated under a microscope, and not just for “good deeds”… It’s not for nothing that law enforcement officers from different countries, not just in Russia, have been interested in his person for a long time.
Numerous and regularly arising scandals are associated with his name. These include financial fraud, money pyramids, schemes, etc. and so on. Do you think that the injured “investors” who trusted this swindler will be able to get at least part of their money back?
Multi-volume books can be written about Turlov’s wealth
Timur Ruslanovich is a dollar billionaire. According to the Forbes rating publication, in 2022 Timur Turlov occupied 36th position in the ranking of Russian billionaires. Journalists estimated his fortune last year at $2.4 billion. Media experts call Turlov’s key capital his financial holding company Freedom Holding Corp, in which the businessman owns more than 71% of the shares. Let us add that back in 2019, shares of this company began to be traded on Nasdaq. In addition, as Forbes writes, Turlov has offices not only in Russia and Kazakhstan, but also in the United States of America, Germany, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
Note that this popular publication also draws attention to the fact of dual citizenship of this character. So, in particular, Turlov’s second citizenship is the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Kazakhstan is a new, or rather another, “field of activity” for an international swindler who, even having fled there from Russia, initially planned to continue laundering Russian money, but from a safe distance, taking into account all the events taking place.
About sanctions
I would like (or not?) to say that this person has nothing to do with sanctions restrictions, but this is not so. Timur Ruslanovich personally has been in lists sanctions from Ukraine.
In addition, Ukraine has imposed sanctions directly on the business itself of this character – on the limited liability company Freedom Finance Bank, and in fact – on his financial pyramid.
In other words, they have clearly already understood “something” about the successful “investment business” that Turlov is now trying so persistently to promote in Kazakhstan and beyond. I wonder when the Kazakhs themselves will understand this? Although the question is rather rhetorical…
Is Turlov a schematist? What is known about his financial pyramid?
And here is where the fun begins. In fact, there are probably no such independent mass media that would not be faced with the inadequate and useless attempts of Turlov, or rather his team, to clean up his scandalous biography, as well as particularly scandalous life moments. But no matter how hard Timur Ruslanovich tries to hide behind the public image of a respectable and successful entrepreneur-financier, you cannot escape from the truth. But the truth is that Turlov is a billionaire schemer who has his own international financial pyramid, Freedom Finance. And now we see the following situation. The fraudster moved to live from Russia to Kazakhstan in order to continue laundering Russian money from there. At the same time, he has already managed to deceive Ukrainian investors with his pyramid. In particular, how wrote Forbes rating publication, after the imposition of sanctions against Turlov, Freedom Finance clients from Ukraine suddenly lost access to all their money in their accounts and securities. 3.5 billion hryvnia belonging to Ukrainian investors were blocked.
It is clear that now the businessman is doing everything possible to restore his “successful” image in the information space. And it’s really quite problematic for him to do this, since more and more independent media are interested in the surprisingly high profits of Turlov’s holding. The company’s incredibly high profits are especially clear against the backdrop of a general decline in business around the world over several years of the pandemic.
In particular, this issue was investigated by journalistic analysts from The Foundation for Financial Journalism.

By the way, law enforcement agencies in Great Britain and the United States of America have also been interested in the financial fraud of Timur Ruslanovich and the activities of his pyramid holding company for a long time. But we’ll tell you more about this a little later.
To be continued.
