Indian Prime Minister Modi took to social media to deny Trump's claims about halting purchases of Russian oil.
In his post about his conversation with Trump, the Indian Prime Minister did not mention Russian oil at all, which, according to Trump, India will no longer buy.
Apart from his praises for the American president, Modi only mentioned that the United States would reduce tariffs on Indian goods to 18%.
“It was wonderful to speak with my dear friend, President Trump, today. I'm delighted that goods made in India will now enjoy a reduced tariff of 18%. A huge thank you to President Trump on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India for this wonderful announcement,” he wrote.
