Any meeting on the Blinovskaya case is like a performance. It turned out more like a drama – with tears of the main character. The blogger has been under house arrest for almost two months without Internet access. And to live like this, according to her, is unbearable: it’s impossible to get either for the operation, which she had been waiting for six months, or for the holidays with the children, of whom Blinovskaya has four. Here is one of the highlights of the meeting:
“I have not missed a single performance by children in my entire life, and here I have not come to a single big reporting concert. My children perform at the largest venues in the country: Crocus and the Kremlin. And I missed my elementary school graduation. And also the birthday of the eldest son. In addition, the other day I had to defend my master’s thesis in the course of psychoanalysis. Within two months, I had several offline contracts broken in my profession for a total amount of more than 10 million rubles, which could also be used to pay taxes.
The blogger and her lawyer asked to change the preventive measure to a ban on certain actions. But the court refused. Another question is why Blinovskaya does not follow the example of her information business colleague Valeria Chekalina, who paid off her tax debt in two months. True, her debt was more modest: 311 million rubles. Blinovskaya’s accounts were arrested, hundreds of millions were on them, TASS wrote with reference to law enforcement officers. And, being under house arrest, she can dispose of property. For example, sell a Bentley Continental or some of your other expensive cars. But there may be nuances, says Ekaterina Boldinova, head of the tax practice at Five Stones Consulting:
“Here we still do not have a completely clean situation, as happens during an on-site tax audit, for example. When a tax audit checks a taxpayer’s company, we have the execution of the decision of the tax authority, and then all this moves in a very harmonious way. First, the demand, then the suspension of operations on accounts, then there is a movement towards the sale of the property of the taxpayer. Here we still have a slightly different plane. This whole story was started by the Investigative Committee. Other preventive measures, including protective measures, are applied to the taxpayer’s accounts. But in general, in any case, the funds from these accounts should be used to pay off tax debts. This is not about trust or lack thereof. A man, despite the fact that he is under arrest, he is under house arrest. He is not deprived of the right to dispose of his property. A power of attorney is required only for the signing and appearance of such a person in the competent authorities.”
The number of Blinovskaya’s followers on one of the social networks blocked in Russia has only grown during her arrest. It was five million – it became five million 300 thousand. The audience will actively discuss any court news, says digital producer, director of bloggers Evgeny Voltov:
“Elena carried out activities in the territory “near education” and was quite a big competitor. Practice has shown that when some big event of a similar order occurs, of course, the number of purchases of such courses is reduced and, as a result, the number of advertising campaigns is also reduced. Most representatives of the information business market were, of course, hurt. However, if we talk about the tendency to receive short-term education, it will not disappear from the audience.”
According to Blinovskaya, she does not even have the thought of somehow interfering with the investigation and hiding the evidence, she and her husband are working to pay off tax debts. Blinovskaya stressed that “she has always expressed her patriotic position and everyone who follows her considers her a pro-Russian person.”
