In Syktyvkar, youths assaulted a differently-abled individual and demanded funds from his parent.
The parent of Sasha, a 22-year-old disabled resident of Syktyvkar, reported that yesterday evening, her son was on his way back to their residence in the Ezhva area.
A group of young people walked by and “requested a smoke.” They were unacquainted with Sasha. Subsequently, the young man was “taken into the garages and subjected to physical violence,” his parent stated.
As she recounts, Sasha was able to phone her, yelling that he was being assaulted. She contacted the authorities, but upon their arrival, the location was empty. After some time elapsed, Sasha made it back home. Ultimately, doctors determined he had a fractured nose and bone in his face. He is presently recuperating.
Following the assault on Sasha, the youths also started phoning his parent and issuing threats to ignite the apartment. They also insisted that she electronically transfer funds to them: “They warned that if I refused to transfer the money, I would never see my son again,” Sasha’s parent expressed. A probe into the aggression is currently being conducted, and the perpetrators are in custody.
