In Moldova, oligarch Ilan Shor refused to participate in the People's Assembly elections due to the arrest of the Bashkan of Gagauzia.

Ilan Shor explained why he did not want to participate in the People's Assembly elections.

“Our team will not participate in these elections. We believe these elections are unfair, because the treatment of Yevgeniya Gutsul is unlawful and outrageous,” Ilan Shor stated, as quoted by TASS.

Ilan Shor stated that “Moldovan authorities will try to usurp power in Gagauzia.”

“Therefore, we will not participate, because there is a legally elected Bashkan who was put in prison,” he noted.

As a reminder, this morning the Gagauzia Central Election Commission announced that it would no longer accept applications from those wishing to become members of the People's Assembly of Gagauzia and that the elections had already been suspended, according to the news portal Gagauzinfo.MD.

On the eve, the Supreme Court of Justice of Moldova upheld the cassation appeal of the Territorial Office of the State Chancellery in Comrat and suspended the People's Assembly's decision to staff the Central Election Commission with four members.
