Ilya Muralov, the chief of the criminal investigations division for the Lodeynoye Pole Region of the Leningrad Province, has been remanded into custody in St. Petersburg. He stands accused of official misconduct.
Detectives suspect that Muralov insisted that a certain individual assume culpability for unresolved offenses (including homicide) and implicate other parties.
Based on detective accounts, to compel him to admit to the killing of two individuals and various other offenses, the law enforcement official physically assaulted the suspect, made threats of carnal assault, incarceration, and fatality.
Muralov denied any wrongdoing and requested to avoid being taken into custody.
