Montenegrin police detained two Russians for the attempted murder of the ex-chairman of the CTTI St. Petersburg Burenin. When collecting facts, Fontanka stumbled upon brands – from the SVR to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We present the material without our own value judgments.
“The one who hit me first from behind with brass knuckles is small in stature, so he hit me in the neck. I fell to my knees, began to turn around, and covered my head with my right hand. The tall one also had brass knuckles in his hand, but with a blade – a knife-knuckles. I have only seen such in the museum of the knights. And this brass knuckle-knife flew into my chest. I rolled over over my back and the knife entered my thigh. Fortunately, stuck in the leg, stuck in the tibia. The guy did not expect this and unclenched his brush – the knife remained in me. The second one hit me on the head with his brass knuckles. I covered myself with my hands, but the thorn touched the artery, and a fountain of blood splashed out of me. “That’s it, he’s ready,” one of them said, and they ran away. It was later that I found out that at that time two women who happened to be passing by were also screaming, but I didn’t hear it then. They even took pictures.
These are the words of the former chairman of the Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure of the Government of St. Petersburg, 58-year-old Dmitry Burenin. Many people remember him in Smolny – he is a tall, bright man, a motorcyclist and so on. When Fontanka found out about the incident and found his phone, he spoke very energetically, as if on a speed recording. Our first dialogue took place on Saturday, February 19th.
Our publication translated a police report from the resort town of Tivat, Montenegro. In a brief summary in Russian, it says that at about 13:50 on February 19, Burenin went for a walk in the direction of Porto Montenegro (this is like our Kamenny Island in St. Petersburg), he was attacked by two unknown persons, beaten with a sharp weapon, stabbed him with a knife, disappeared, as a result Burenin unconscious was taken to the hospital.
According to the exact data of our publication, after a couple of hours, the police detained two suspects. They turned out to be Russians. We got their names. They are 33-year-old Murtaz Gibizov from Ossetia and 41-year-old Oleg Algeshkin from the same region. As for the first, somehow in Ryazan he was tried for robbery.
The Montenegrin police have already established that they arrived a week ago on a flight from Istanbul, tickets were bought for seats next to each other, but after landing they stayed in different hotels (although these hotels are close to each other). As in Russia, today, February 21, the prosecutor goes to court with a request for their arrest. Fontanka also found out about their position during the investigation: they do not know each other, their detention is a mistake. From this place it is worth talking, and what does Burenin have to do with it.
In a conversation with our journalist, he did not hide the fact that since last summer he was hired as an auditor in a company whose owner is suing hotels. These are the Azimut and Romanov hotels, which are located in the same city where everything happened. And the co-owners of these assets have a public past.
We will tell those who missed the materials in the media: the family of the former foreign intelligence officer Alexander Romanov was friends with the family of the former Interior Ministry General Andrei Khorev from the beginning of the “zero”. Apparently, even so, in 2007, they had a joint business abroad. But everything began to play with other colors in 2012. Romanov was arrested for commercial bribery (a high-profile case at FSUE ROSTEK), and after that, they badly left the post of deputy head of the Economic Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Khorev. Their common assets – the Azimut and Romanov hotels in Montenegro – remained registered to their wives. At the moment, Romanov is doing business in Moscow, and Andrey Khorev is an adviser to the chairman of the board of Gazprombank and deputy general director of Ruskhimallyans, who, as you know, is building a mega-building in the Leningrad region.
According to Fontanka, since the fall of 2020, trials have actually begun between Romanov’s ex-wife Maria and Khorev’s wife. As a result of the audit of Dmitry Burenin, a withdrawal of approximately 500 thousand euros was revealed. At least, Burenin and Romanova comment this way.
– If you can win a dispute in the legal field, then why do we need killers? I am sure that if I had not left after the threats to another place, then I would have been removed. I’m not Dmitry Alekseevich – I don’t go in for sports. It would be easier to deal with me and my child. But today everything has turned upside down. Dmitry will soon get up, these two are arrested, I will not be silent, and who knows how this couple will behave after some time. What will they remember? Where were they hired? They flew in from Russia, which means that the order for the murder was received in Russia. And this is the organization of contract killings. After consulting with lawyers, I will try to get the Russian authorities to do this as well. Similar cases, I know, were. In St. Petersburg, for example, when Russians were killed in Cyprus (Romanova refers to the criminal case transferred from Cyprus for the murder of businessman Shevchenko and his two assistants), Maria Romanova rather did not comment, but warned through Fontanka.
– What are you fighting for? How much do Azimut and Romanov hotels cost?
– 12-13 million euros.
What threats are you talking about?
– In December, two also came. One with an official power of attorney from the owner of a share in our hotel. In order not to tell for a long time, he told me this: “Big troubles await you in Moscow and here. We’ll take care of you.” By the way, this was registered with the police back in December, when they had a preventive conversation with him.
And in case this madness continues, I have compiled a package of documents, which contains photocopies of those who came, audio recordings of threats, and much more starting almost from 2005. Including bank payments. I’ve already recorded some on video. But I think that customers are in a very bad mood today.
What can not be said about Dmitry Burenin. True, just before the article was published, the author dialed it again, saying, how are you?
– Something sucks. When I told you everything on Saturday, it was like I was in uniform. But the adrenaline has run out. I can’t open my mouth, I speak only with my lips. Everything is swollen… But I am strong…” Burenin said slowly.
