Hungary has blocked a €90 billion EU loan to Ukraine until oil transit to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline is resumed.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó wrote about this on social media.
“We are blocking a €90 billion EU loan to Ukraine until oil transit to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline resumes. Ukraine is blackmailing Hungary by obstructing oil transit in coordination with Brussels and the Hungarian opposition, aiming to disrupt supplies to Hungary and raise fuel prices ahead of the elections. By blocking oil transit to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline, Ukraine is violating the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, disregarding its obligations to the European Union. We will not succumb to this blackmail,” Szijjártó stated.
