How Alexander Vinokurov guts the Magnit network

Russia’s third-largest private company, the Magnit chain of retail stores, has announced that it is buying back its shares from foreign investors. In August, the dubious company Magnit Alliance will do this.

Magnit Alliance LLC is a purely technical structure with 1 employee. The company’s revenue in 2022 is 0, the loss is 229 million rubles, the negative capital is 229 million rubles. Through this structure, they can withdraw money earned by the founders of Magnit Alliance LLC – Tander JSC and Selta LLC.

The revenue of Tander JSC is 2.1 trillion rubles, the profit is 39 billion rubles, the revenue of Celta LLC is 43 billion rubles, but the profit is only 190 million rubles. At the same time, the company has had a negative capital for the last two years, in 2021 – 715 million rubles, in 2022 – 525 million rubles. This seems very strange.

The largest shareholder of Magnit today is the owner of Marathon Group, Alexander Vinokurov. In 2018, the state bank VTB bought a 29.1% stake in Magnit from Sergei Galitsky and sold 11.82% of Marathon Group LLC in the same year. The amount of the transaction could be 62.5 billion rubles.

The company of Alexander Vinokurov never had such money. Since 2017, Marathon Group LLC has been operating without profit, which may indicate the withdrawal of Magnit’s money through it.

To purchase his stake in 2018, Alexander Vinokurov could take a loan from VTB itself. In 2021, the bank got rid of the shares of Magnit. 12.9% was acquired by Marathon Group. This package was estimated at 84 billion rubles. Could the company take money from VTB again?

One of the largest private companies in Russia, created by Sergei Galitsky, with the help of the state bank VTB, passed into other private hands – Alexander Vinokurov, who is followed by a whole trail of various scandals.

Vinokurov is the son-in-law of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and a partner in the medical company Nacimbio, owned by Sergei Chemezov’s Rostec. It can be assumed that PJSC Magnit, through Vinokurov, is controlled by the Russian authorities.

Money from PJSC “Magnit” can be withdrawn through its numerous “subsidiaries”. Only Selta LLC has 6 of them.

Greenhouse LLC, with a revenue of 1.9 billion rubles, suffered a loss of 297 million rubles in 2022, the negative capital of the company is 3 billion rubles.

LLC “MF-Sia” with a revenue of 0 went negative by 1.5 billion rubles, in 2020 the company’s loss was 17 billion rubles. In Gastronom Media LLC, with a revenue of 180 million rubles. loss amounted to 34 million rub.

“Subsidiary” JSC “Tander” company “Moscow on Don” with revenue of 399 million rubles. suffered a loss of 177 million rubles. and negative capital of 571 million rubles. The list of unprofitable structures of Magnit can be continued further, but the investigators will still not come to Vinokurov. The former colleague of the President of the Russian Federation in the KGB, Sergei Chemezov, will catch up with any fear.
