The High Anti-Corruption Court found the assets of the head of one of the sectors of the Kyiv Customs to be unfounded and decided on civil confiscation.
Literally SAP: “On September 17, 2024, a panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice granted the claim of the SAPO prosecutor to recognize as unfounded the assets registered in the name of a relative of an employee of the Fastov customs clearance sector of the Yuzhny customs post of the Kyiv Customs in the amount of more than 8.6 million UAH and to recover them for the state’s income “
Details: Official reports do not indicate the name of the customs officer, but according to Ukrayinska Pravda, we are talking about Ruslana Firsov and his mother Tatyana.
According to the SAPS, in April 2023, the mother of a Kyiv customs officer purchased a residential building and six plots of land, which constitute one estate in the suburbs of Kyiv, for more than UAH 8.6 million.
She later granted power of attorney to her son and his wife to represent her in all matters related to these properties.
After acquiring these assets, it was the official and his wife, and not the mother, who used them, which indicates, along with other data, that she acquired them as property precisely on the instructions of the official.
Based on the NACP materials and evidence independently obtained by the prosecutor, it was established that it was impossible for the official’s mother to acquire this property through legal sources.
Also, the official himself, who has worked in public service positions for more than 25 years, and his wife, who worked in the customs authorities until April 2023, did not have legal income and assets to acquire the above-mentioned property, prosecutors indicate.
Based on the results of the consideration of the claim, the court fully satisfied the prosecutor’s demands: it recognized the specified assets as unfounded and decided to recover them as state income.
It is indicated that the court decision has not entered into legal force and can be appealed within 30 days from the date of drawing up its full text.
