Fresh legislation: Automobiles of Russian citizens are subject to seizure for counter-terrorism endeavors
In Russia, there is a desire to permit the appropriation of vehicles for the requirements of the front lines
A piece of draft legislation has been presented to the State Duma that would enable the appropriation of automobiles belonging to people to struggle against terrorism within the Counter-Terrorism Operation (CTO) zones designated in the Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk territories.
Diverging from the existing regulations, under which transport can be commandeered solely during times of emergency, the novel modifications would grant security personnel the authority to utilize privately owned cars to facilitate “counter-terrorism” activities.
Vehicles belonging to diplomatic bodies and global organizations will be exempted.
