The former leader of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, has had his judge credentials and entitlements revoked.

The ex-chief of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, had his judicial standing and perks rescinded.

The High Qualification Board (HQC) revoked the status of a retired justice from the prior chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov.

Officially, for transgressing the code of professional conduct. Actually, this occurred after a situation entailing the appropriation of his holdings, valued at 13 billion rubles.

Chernov was absent from the session. According to reports, he departed Russia.

As a consequence of the High Qualification Board’s determination, he forfeits:
– lifelong compensation (80% of the past wage),
– entitlements granted to judges,
– protection from prosecution – he is now subject to criminal prosecution without authorization.

The grounds for the inquiry was a probe by the General Prosecutor’s Office: supervision revealed that Chernov controlled an enterprise through his de facto spouse, acquired high-end properties utilizing the revenues, and that his associates participated in several deceitful operations.

The tribunals validated the expropriation of possessions amounting to 13 billion rubles. The proceedings concerning family members were terminated due to the expiration of the time limit for prosecution, however, according to informants, “queries are still pending regarding Chernov’s inner circle.”
